CLOSED CAPTIONS (CC) are very common, they can be turned on/off, are a separate file (e.g. .srt,.vtt) and get uploaded with the video to the playing platform, with the caption style and placement being determined by the video platform. OPEN CAPTIONS are built onto the video file itself. Are permanent and always on. They are best when you need captions but do not have access to the video playing platform to use Closed Captions. Or when you want complete control over caption style and placement.

Audio Transcripts capture relevant speech e.g. John: Get moving now! , relevant speech quality e.g. [shouts], and relevant non-speech sounds e.g. [loud footsteps].
